Turn On Fire TV Parental Controls on Your Compatible Echo Devices with a Screen

Use settings to restrict access to content types and purchasing through Fire TV.

Note: Settings menu items for the Echo Hub and Echo Show 5 (all generations) may vary, and those devices will receive a software update soon.

To turn Fire TV Parental Controls on or off:

  1. Say, "Go to Settings," or go to the device settings on your Echo Show:
    • If you're using Alexa+, select the Menu icon on your screen, and then select Settings.
    • If you're using the original Alexa, swipe down from the top of the screen and select Settings.
  2. Open Fire TV.
  3. Select Preferences.
  4. Turn on the switch for Parental Controls.
  5. Set a PIN to use each time that you want to turn parental controls on or off. Enter the PIN that you want and select OK.
  6. Select the types of controls that you want to turn on or off.

Note: Set parental controls settings for Fire TV separately from the Echo Show device settings. Each work on different functions and services.
