Set Kid-friendly Features on Your Echo Show 5 Kids
Use Amazon Kids and the Alexa app to add skills, games, educational content and more.
Note: Settings menu items for
the Echo Hub and Echo Show 5 (all generations) may vary, and those devices will receive a software update soon.
When you turn on Amazon Kids on your Echo Show 5 Kids, you can add lots of fun, educational, and useful settings and features. Here are a few we recommend.
On the Echo Show 5 Kids device:
- Swipe down from the top of the device screen, and select Amazon Kids
. Choose from lots of Stories, Skills, Videos, and Music sources just for kids.
On the Alexa app:
- Open More
, then select Routines
. Routines can set reminders about play dates, turn on Do Not Disturb during nap times, or play "clean-up" music for 20 minutes.
- Open More
, then select Skills & Games. Search in the Kids category for activities to enjoy on any of your Alexa devices.
- Open Devices
, select your Echo Show 5 Kids device and select Settings
. Then select Alexa's Voice and choose kid-friendly voices and personalities for Alexa.
- At any time, open Communicate
to make an announcement or start a Drop In call to the Echo Show 5 Kids device.
On the Parent Dashboard:
Go to Parent Dashboard (https://parents.amazon.co.uk) and sign in with your Amazon account.
- Select Settings
to set content filters and parental controls that you want for the Kids profile.
- Open Content to explore the full store of apps, games, videos, books and more.
- Set up an Amazon Kids+ account on the Parent Dashboard. Your new Echo Show 5 Kids device comes with a year of Amazon Kids+.
