About Routines by Voice with Alexa+
Create routines with your voice using Alexa to create automations for actions such as controlling smart home devices, playing music, getting weather updates, and more.
Alexa Routines are automations that save you time by grouping multiple actions together. You can create a routine by voice using any supported Alexa-enabled Echo devices, the Alexa app, and supported Alexa-enabled Fire TV devices.
With Alexa Routines by Voice, you can create a routine that includes multiple actions, but not limited to:
- Controlling smart home devices.
- Playing music.
- Controlling your Fire TV.
- Getting the weather.
- Reading your calendar for the day.
- Making announcements.
- Setting custom responses.
To learn more about routines, go to What Can You Do with Alexa Routines?
To create a routine with your voice, describe to Alexa what you want to happen and when. For example, you can say, "Can you play music and turn the lights on in my bedroom every weekday at 7AM?"
Alexa creates and saves the routine in the Alexa app, then notifies you of successful creation or provides you with any errors that occurred.
You can make changes to your routines, such as adding, updating, or deleting actions, immediately after routine creation.
If you can't adjust the routine with your voice, go to Update Your Alexa Routines.
