Repackage Your Amazon Device Returns

Information on how to repackage your device for returns and which accessories to include.

Steps to return an Amazon device vary depending on the type of return. Warranty returns don’t need accessories returned. Whereas standard returns must include accessories with the return. Follow these steps to know how to repackage your device safely for return.

Returning the device as part of a warranty replacement:

  1. Back up your device and remove all stored data.
  2. De-register your device.
  3. Don’t return accessories that you purchased separately or the ones that originally came with your Amazon device. Your replacement package won’t contain accessories. Accessories include (but are not limited to):
    • Amazon Kids Edition Device bumper case (the case is easily removable)
    • All power cables/adapters
    • Fire TV remote
    • Fire TV HDMI adapter
    • Fire TV IR Blaster
  4. Use the original packaging if it’s still available. If not, place your device in a plastic bag and place it in a standard brown box.

Tip: You can reuse the Amazon brown box from another order. Remove the original shipping label.

Returning the device as part of a standard return:

  1. Back up your device and remove all stored data.
  2. De-register your device.
  3. If available, use the original packaging for your device and accessories, otherwise use a plastic bag. Place everything in a standard box.
