Remove Books from Your Kindle E-Reader

Remove a book to free up space on your Kindle.

To remove individual items:

  1. Tap the menu icon on the item's cover when in Grid view or on the right side of the screen when in List view.
  2. Select Remove download.
You can also access this option by pressing and holding on a collection's name or cover. The Cloud securely stores your content and lets you redownload it at any time.
Note: The Cloud doesn't store files that you transferred to your Kindle using the USB cable. When you remove them from the device, you permanently delete them.

Tap the menu icon on the item's cover and select permanently delete to remove items from your cloud account and all your devices. If you wish to read it again, you need to repurchase it.
