On-screen Intelligence On Your Alexa Tablet

On-Screen Intelligence allows Alexa to understand what's on your screen to provide more helpful, contextual responses and suggestions when you interact with Alexa via voice or touch.

This includes the ability to:

  • Get contextual suggestions — When you interact with Alexa, Alexa can view your screen to offer relevant next-best actions tailored to what you're doing.
  • Share your screen — You can choose to share a single screenshot and converse with Alexa for contextual responses about the screenshot.

Your privacy and control:

  • Off by default — On-Screen Intelligence is off until you choose to turn it on.
  • You'll know when Alexa is looking — Visual indicators (such as a screen border or pop up notification) will let you know when you are sharing your screen with Alexa.
  • Easy to turn control— You can enable/disable On-Screen Intelligence at any time through your device settings at Settings > Alexa > On-Screen Intelligence.

A note on Silk browser: If you enable On-Screen Intelligence and use Silk browser, Silk will share the full webpage, including parts not visible on your screen, to Alexa to help Alexa provide better responses. You can learn more about Silk's webpage sharing with On-Screen Intelligence, including how to opt-out, here.

There are two exceptions you control: if you tap the Screenshot button to share your screen yourself, that screenshot is treated like a photo you uploaded and is saved with your conversation; and f you say "Alexa, remember this," Alexa will save that item for you.
