Fire TV Smart TV Audio Settings

You can manage your sound settings directly from the Display & Audio menu.

To access your Fire TV Smart TV sound and audio output settings, go to Settings and then Display & Audio.

Sound Settings

The following table lists the sound settings and their descriptions:

Option Description
Sound Mode

Select from a range of sound modes such as Standard, Movie, Music and more.

Reset

Reset your sound settings to the default factory settings.

Bass, Treble, Balance

Adjust the bass, treble, and balance of your TV speakers.

Advanced Settings

Adjust the settings for Dialog Clarity, TruVolume, and DTS Virtual:X.

Audio Output Options

The following table lists the audio output options and their descriptions:

Option Description
TV Speakers

Turn on or off the built-in TV speakers.

Audio output jack

Select how to control the volume when using the 3.5mm audio output on the back of the TV.

You can choose from the following options:

  • Fixed: Select to control the volume using only your connected device.
  • Variable: Select to control the volume using both your connected device and your Fire TV remote.

Digital Audio Format

Select an audio format for the HDMI ARC and optical output:

  • PCM: Passes uncompressed audio to the HDMI ARC or optical output.
  • Dolby Digital: Passes Dolby Digital Audio to the HDMI ARC or optical output.
  • Passthrough: Passes through the signal from the audio or source without changing the audio format type. Your TV defaults to supporting 5.1 channel digital output. Select Passthrough to support a max of 7.1 channels.
  • Auto: Automatically selects the best audio format for the HDMI ARC and optical output based on the connected device or output.

Bluetooth Audio Sync

Sync the video and audio on your Bluetooth audio device.
