Echo Hub Display Changes When I Approach

Echo Hub detects when someone is nearby, and automatically switches to the Home Dashboard.

Note: Settings menu items for the Echo Hub may vary, and those devices will receive a software update soon.
Echo Hub shows idle screen content, such as photos, clock, and weather, when it's not busy. Auto-wake automatically transitions the display to the Home Dashboard when someone is within about 3 feet (1 meter) of the device.

When Auto-wake is off, Echo Hub displays idle screen content, or is dark, until it receives a touch or voice command.

To turn off Auto-wake:

  1. Say "Open settings," or swipe down from the top of the screen and select Settings .
  2. Select Device Options.
  3. Select Proximity Detection.
  4. Turn off Auto Wake.

Auto-wake also turns off when you press the device Mute button, or when the device is in Night mode.
