Reset Your Echo Hub

If your Echo Hub is unresponsive, or you want to erase your settings, factory reset the device.

Note: Settings menu items for the Echo Hub and Echo Show 5 (all generations) may vary, and those devices will receive a software update soon.

To resolve most issues, try restarting your device first. Press and hold the Mute button on your device for 5 to 10 seconds, until you see the device restart.

If restarting doesn't solve the issue, try resetting your device:

  1. Say, "Go to settings," or swipe down from the top of the screen and select Settings .
  2. Select Device Options.
  3. Select About the Device.
  4. Select Reset to Factory Defaults.
    • To resolve most device issues, select Reset to Factory Defaults, but retain Smart Home Device Connections.
    • To clear all device settings, including deregistering the Echo Hub from your Amazon account, select Reset to Factory Defaults.
  5. After the device resets, follow the on-screen instructions to set up the Echo Hub.
