Troubleshoot Whispersync for Voice

Whispersync for Voice automatically syncs your audiobooks with eBooks if you own or borrow both versions. With Whispersync you can seamlessly switch between reading and listening to your book.

For syncing issues with Whispersync for Voice, make sure:

  1. Your device is connected to a wireless network.
  2. The Sync Settings option from your Amazon account is turned on.
    1. Go to Manage Your Content and Devices and select the Preferences tab.
    2. Scroll down to Sync Settings and open the drop down. Check that the setting is ON.
  3. You turn on the Sync setting on your app or device. For detailed instructions, go to: Update Your Sync Settings for Kindle.
  4. You sync your Kindle app or device.
  5. Your device software is updated to the latest software.
  6. You update your Kindle app or device to the latest version. Check your device app store for any updates.
  7. You update your Kindle book.
    1. Go to Manage Your Content and Devices and select the Content tab.
    2. Select Books and search for your title.
    3. If the title shows Update available under the details, select it and then Update.
  8. As a final step, you try removing the download for the book from your device. Sync your Kindle app or device again, and then redownload the book.

Important: You must own or borrow both the audiobook and eBook versions of a title that supports Read & Listen to use Whispersync for Voice.
