Your Device Requires More Power to Start Up

Check the power source and cable that you're using to start the device.

If You're Using the Power Adapter and Cable That Came with the Device:

  • Check that the adapter and power cable connect correctly at all points.
  • Check for an issue with the power outlet. Try connecting another electrical item to the outlet that you want to use. Or connect your device into an electrical outlet that you know powers other items.

If You're Using a Different Power Adapter:

  • Make sure that the power adapter meets power requirements for the device. Consult the device's product page for power requirements.

If You're Using the Device Power Adapter with a Different Cable:

  • Connect the device using the cable that came with it. If the device starts, the issue might be with the cable that you want to use.
  • If you're using a long cable, try using a shorter one. Longer cables can reduce power getting through them.

If You're Connecting the Device to Power Over Ethernet (PoE):

  • Make sure that the USB-C converter that you're using is compatible with the PoE protocols your device uses. Consult the device's product page for PoE requirements.
  • Make sure that your device doesn't connect directly into your Ethernet router. Connect your device to a compatible PoE switch, and then connect the switch to your Ethernet router.
