Indicators for Alexa+ on Echo Devices with a Screen
The visual indicators on your Echo device with a screen communicate various device statuses and interactions. Understanding these indicators can help you better use your device and troubleshoot any issues.
Here is an overview of the indicators for Echo devices with a screen:
Bell Icon
A bell icon with a blue badge in the top left-hand corner of your device means that Alexa has a message or notification, or there's a reminder you missed. Say, "What are my notifications?" or "What are my messages?"
Listening Indicator
A pulsing blue light at the bottom of the screen means that Alexa is listening. The pulsing matches your voice - wider pulses for louder speech, shorter pulses for softer speech.
Ready-to-Listen Indicator
A small, solid blue light at the bottom of the screen indicates that Alexa is ready for you to speak. This means you can speak directly to Alexa without first saying Alexa.
Processing Indicator
A blue light moving like an ocean wave from left to right means that Alexa is thinking or processing your request.
Camera/Microphones Indicator
A red light tells you the camera and microphones on/off button is pressed, and the device microphones and camera are turned off. Press the button again to turn on the device microphones and camera.
Call in Progress
A green light comes on when you're in a call or a Drop In, and you leave the call screen. It shows that you're still on an active call.
Do Not Disturb
When the Do Not Disturb feature is on, a crescent moon icon shows in the top left-hand corner after you make any request. Turn off Do Not Disturb to speak with Alexa again.
