Fire TV Remote Not Working with Fire TV Soundbar

If your Fire TV remote isn't working to control your soundbar, set up equipment control on your Fire TV.

Before getting started, locate your Fire TV and Fire TV Soundbar remotes.

Fire TV devices automatically detect compatible equipment and provide on-screen instructions to add them.

If your Fire TV device doesn't detect your soundbar, or you're using an optical cable, set up equipment control in your Fire TV settings:

Note: To use your TV remote with your soundbar outside of the Fire TV experience, connect the soundbar to your TV's HDMI ARC input.

  1. Go to Settings on your Fire TV.
  2. Select Equipment Control.
  3. Select Manage Equipment.
  4. Select Add Equipment, and then select Soundbar.
