Add or Remove Play Store Access on Child Profile

Add or Remove Play Store Access on Child Profile

You can control whether your child has access to the Google Play Store on their Amazon Kids Tablet. When turned off, the Play Store app can't be accessed for download on the child's profile.

You can manage this setting from the tablet or from Parent Dashboard.

From Amazon Kids Tablet:

  1. In the child profile, go to Settings.
  2. Select Amazon Kids+ to access parent dashboard.
  3. Select the child profile you want to manage.
  4. Select Settings.
  5. Select Store.
  6. Select the Google Play store and toggle it off.

From Parents dashboard:

  1. Select the child profile you want to manage.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select Store.
  4. Select the Google Play store and toggle it on or off.
Note: Turning off the Play Store does not uninstall apps that are already downloaded on your device — it only prevents them from browsing and installing new ones. To remove individual Play Store apps, go to the child's profile and uninstall them from Settings > Apps.

The Google Play Store is separate from the Amazon Kids+ Store. You can enable or disable each one independently. To manage the Kids+ Store, see Manage the Amazon Kids+ Store on Amazon Kids Tablet.
