Export Your Fire Tablet Data

Calendar Data

To export your calendar data in .ics format for devices running FireOS 5.3.6.4 (626532920), FireOS 5.3.6.4 (626533320), and FireOS 5.6.1.0 (605485120) and above:

  1. Ensure that your Fire tablet is connected to Wi-Fi and then open the Calendar app.
  2. Tap the top-left menu (three lines), tap Export Calendar, and confirm the export.
  3. Open the Docs app, and go to Local Storage.
  4. Tap the menu (three dots) next to your individual calendar files, select Email, and send yourself the file.
    Note: Calendar events are stored as .ics files.

Contact Data

To export your contact data in .vcf format:

  • FireOS 6 or later:
    1. Ensure that your Fire tablet is connected to Wi-Fi and then open the Contacts app.
    2. Tap the top-right menu (three dots) and then tap Import/export.
    3. Tap Export to Storage, tap the top-right menu (three dots), and then tap Show internal storage.
    4. Tap the top-left menu (three lines) and then select a storage location.
    5. Enter a filename and then tap Save.
  • FireOS 5 or earlier:
    1. Ensure that your Fire tablet is connected to Wi-Fi and then open the Contacts app.
    2. Tap the top-right menu (three dots) and then tap Import/export.
    3. Tap Export to storage and then tap OK.

To confirm that your contact data has been exported:

  1. Go to the Home Screen and open the Docs app.
  2. Select the Local Storage tab. If the export was successful, there is a file with the extension .vcf in this folder. If you chose a custom location, you must navigate to that location to confirm the export was successful.
