What Is Follow Up Mode?

Use Follow Up Mode to talk to Alexa without repeating the wake word.

You can turn on Follow Up Mode by saying, "Turn on Follow Up Mode."

When Follow Up Mode is turned on, you'll find it easier to continue having a conversation with Alexa without needing to repeat the wake word.

On compatible Echo Show devices, you can turn on Enhanced Follow Up Mode. When this feature is on, and you're in view of the camera and facing the screen, you can interrupt Alexa to make a new request, and extend your time to make follow up requests without having to repeat the wake word.

A visual indicator will appear when you can talk to Alexa without the wake word.
