Change the Wake Word on Your Echo Device

Use the Alexa app to set the name you call to start conversations with Alexa.

  1. Open the Alexa app .
  2. Select Devices "".
  3. Select your device.
  4. Select Device Settings , then select Wake Word.
  5. Select a wake word, then select OK.
Tip: Changing the wake word only changes the wake word on the device you updated. You can set different wake words on your devices.
