Amazon Games Content Usage Policy

Last updated: September 23, 2025

We believe players are the driving force behind games, and we're great fans of all the amazing stuff you and your communities create every day — whether it’s content you want us to add to the game (like custom levels or mods) or just game content you want to share with the wider community (like streaming gameplay or fan art). So if you're interested in creating content for or based on games we develop or publish, here is our basic philosophy: you can use our game content provided it’s presented tastefully and made available free of charge to the game community, and we get a license to any content you make with or submit to our game.

We have some rules in our Terms of Use (https://www.amazon.co.uk/help/ags/terms) (see section 4.2) and below, but that's the gist.

Keep it Relevant: your content should benefit and reinforce the game's community.

Non-Commercial Use: while the general rule is you may use our game content for non-commercial purposes only, we're okay if you are monetizing your content via ads, sponsorships, or subscriptions on TikTok, Twitch, Discord, YouTube, X, Facebook, or similar sites so long as they are suitable for a general audience (e.g., you may not monetize your content via OnlyFans). It's not okay if your content will generate any other type of revenue. If you're a corporation or other registered business entity, you need to talk to us first.

No Games or Mods: sorry, but it's not okay to make your own game using our game content or to create mods. If things change for a particular game, like if a game supports mods, we'll let you know.

Logos & Content Endorsement: it's okay to use our game logos (but not any other Amazon logos) to identify your content as associated with the game, but make it clear that it's fan content and don't distort game logos or use them in a way that implies we endorse your content (e.g., don't prominently feature them alone on a website). And don't claim we endorse you either. (It's, of course, okay to wear, for example, an officially licensed t-shirt with the game's logo in your broadcast on TikTok, Twitch, Discord, YouTube, X, Facebook, or similar sites suitable for a general audience.) Similarly, we will not claim you endorse the game or us without your consent.

Respect the Law and Other People's Intellectual Property: your content must comply with applicable laws, and you must make sure you have permission to use music, assets, and any other content you use.

Keep Your Content Tasteful: content that is hateful, obscene, or otherwise objectionable in our judgment are not okay (e.g., we don’t allow hate speech, harassment or cyberbullying, self-destructive behavior, content that encourages illegal activities like child abuse, content that supports terrorism or violent extremism, and sexually explicit content).

Streaming and Use of Gameplay: we strive to make games to be as fun to watch as they are to play. When you stream or otherwise show game content:

  • Don’t sell or license your content for a fee or compensation of any kind, or charge viewers to access your content (except for permitted ads, sponsorships, and subscriptions via features offered by TikTok, Twitch, Discord, YouTube, X, Facebook, or similar sites like we mentioned before).
    • Third-party sponsorships are okay, but don’t imply a connection between us and your sponsors or associate our game content with products that are not appropriate for a general audience (e.g., no tobacco or tobacco-related products).
    • Donations are also okay, as long as they are really donations, as in they are totally optional and not a requirement to access your content.
  • Don’t claim that you created the game, the game world, characters in it, etc., but you can claim credit for designing content you submitted and that appears in the game, like a custom level.
  • Don’t post any leaked or pre-release game content under NDA. (From time to time we will work with individuals to showcase a game build or feature before it is released or we may hold a pre-release event. Unless we’ve given you explicit written permission, it’s not okay to stream/create content based on that early access material. This also applies to individuals in our Creator Program.)

We Get a License: by submitting content to us, you grant us a license to use it without restriction and at no cost.  Note, we don’t own the part you originally created.  For example, let’s say you build a game level using our in-game editor and then submit it to us to add to the game.  While we’d always own the individual blocks you moved around to create the level, we would not own the level layout you designed, we only have a license.  And remember, we’d only get a license to that layout if you decide to submit it. We strive to design our games in a way that gives you credit if we decide to use it in the game.

Also, we can use and amplify your other content to the extent it’s based on our game IP, and we can credit you in return.

Although we're excited about all the interesting things you may want to make with our game content, we reserve the right to revoke your limited license to use our game content at any time without having to give any specific explanations. Often, it's going to be because we think the game content is being used in ways we find inappropriate, or damaging to the game community or player experience. If we revoke this limited license, you'll have to stop using or distributing game content in your content. Violations of this policy may also result in a temporary or permanent suspension of your access to our games.

If you see something that you think may violate this policy, please help us and the community by reporting it to ag-content-usage@amazon.com (https://mailto:ag-content-usage@amazon.com/).

These are the general guidelines. They do not cover everything and may change over time, but they provide the spirit of what we expect from the community. We look forward to seeing what you’ll be making next.
