Troubleshoot Issues with Your Fire Tablet microSD Card
If you formatted your microSD card and it still doesn't work, try these troubleshooting tips.
- Make sure the microSD card is compatible with your device:
- 5th & 6th Generation tablets: Supports up to 200 GB
- 7th Generation tablets: Supports up to 256 GB
- 8th & 9th Generation tablets: Supports up to 512 GB
- 10th Generation tablets and newer: Supports up to 1 TB
- Verify that the card is UHS or at least Class 4 or higher for non-UHS.
- Verify that the microSD card is inserted correctly. Unmount (safely remove) and reinsert the microSD.
- Confirm that the microSD card works on another device like; phone, or another tablet.
- Try a different microSD card.
- Fire tablet (running FireOS 6 and higher) can't install apps and games to a microSD card.
