Recycling Large and Bulky Items
When you order a new large appliance on Amazon.co.uk, you can often book an environmentally friendly disposal service for the appliance you're replacing.
To place an order for collection and recycling services:
- Browse for an eligible product.
Eligible products will show an Unpack and Recycle option on the product detail page and checkout page, along with the cost of the service.
- Select the Unpack and Recycle option and add the product to your basket.
- On the Shipping & Payment page, select the delivery and service address.
- On the Appointment Preferences page, in the Shipments section, select your delivery option, preferred delivery and service day, and time.
- Review your order details and if everything looks good, click Place your order.

Note:
- If the Unpack and Recycle option is not shown on the product detail page or checkout page for the specific product you're viewing, collection and recycling services are unavailable.
- We'll collect your old item when one of our speciality carriers delivers your order.
- The collection and recycling service will be performed at the same address you selected for your delivery. At this time, it is not possible to schedule a recycling service appointment at a different address.
- We'll authorise your card at the time of purchase but we will not charge you until 5 days after the purchase, or 5 days after the service has been provided, whichever comes first.
- Items that are picked up cannot be returned once they leave the delivery address.
- Items that contain dangerous or hazardous materials are not eligible for the collection and recycling service. The carrier has the sole discretion to refuse pick up due to dangerous or hazardous cargo.
- Amazon.co.uk can only dispose of large items of the same category and kind. The old items should not deviate significantly from the new product in weight and dimension.
- Please make absolutely sure that the appliance is disconnected from water supply and electricity well before the pickup is due.
- Refrigerators and freezers must be defrosted.
- Washing machines must be completely drained of any water (including the water supply hose and the lint filter).
- Fitted appliances must be disassembled and freely accessible.
