Set Up Your Fire TV Smart TV

Set up and register your device to use Alexa, access the full Amazon Appstore, and receive Fire TV software updates.

  1. Plug the power cord into an outlet.
  2. Put batteries in your Fire TV remote.
  3. Turn on your TV using the Power button on your Fire TV remote.
  4. If your remote doesn't pair automatically, press the Home button until "Press Play Pause to start" appears on-screen (about 10 seconds).
  5. Activate the Voice Commands When TV Screen is Off feature.
  6. Use your mobile phone to scan QR code to automatically add Wi-Fi settings and complete registration or use the remote instead to set up manually.
  7. If you choose to use the remote instead, follow the on-screen instructions to connect to Wi-Fi and sign into your Amazon account. Use your mobile phone or computer to visit the on-screen web address (amazon.co.uk/code) and enter the activation code.

    If you get a login error or have forgotten your Amazon account password, reset your password.
