Connect Your Kindle E-Reader to Internet

Make sure you're within range of the network you want to connect to.

  1. From the home screen, swipe down to open the Quick Actions or select the Menu icon.
  2. Select All Settings or Settings, then Wi-Fi & Bluetooth or Wireless.
  3. Select Wi-Fi Networks and detected Wi-Fi networks appear.

If your Wi-Fi network is configured to be hidden or broadcast is deactivated, it won't be displayed in the list.

  4. Tap on desired Wi-Fi network or select Other to add it manually (for a hidden network).
  5. Enter the name of your network if applicable and then your Wi-Fi password or network key.
  6. Select Connect.
Note: Public hotspots may require a separate sign-in, usually through a pop-up. Load the service provider welcome page and enter the details to connect. Some public networks require a PIN, voucher code, or a One Time Password (OTP). Check with the service provider for more details.
Note: Select Kindle models support mobile carrier connectivity using 4G LTE. To see if your device supports free cellular mobile connectivity:
  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Select Device Options, and then select Device Info.
  3. Select Network Capability.
Supported devices switch seamlessly between Wi-Fi and cellular connection based on network availability, connection quality, and available cellular carrier support.
