Update the Wi-Fi Settings on Your Echo Devices with a Screen

You can update your Wi-Fi network using your Echo device's on-screen settings. These steps also work with Echo Spot.

Note: Settings menu items for the Echo Hub and Echo Show 5 (all generations) may vary, and those devices will receive a software update soon.
  1. Say, "Go to Settings," or go to the device settings on your Echo Show:
    • If you're using Alexa+, select the Menu icon on your screen, and then select Settings.
    • If you're using the original Alexa, swipe down from the top of the screen and select Settings.
  2. Select Device Options.
  3. Select Network.
  4. Make sure the Wi-Fi toggle is turned on. Then, select your Wi-Fi network from the list and follow the on-screen prompts.

If you don't see your Wi-Fi network, select refresh or scroll down to Preferences to find advanced Wi-Fi options.

Echo devices connect to dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz / 5 GHz) networks that use the 802.11a / b / g / n standard. Echo devices can't connect to ad-hoc (or peer-to-peer) networks.
