Connect Zigbee Smart Home Devices to Alexa Using Your Echo with a Smart Home Hub

You can use the built-in smart home hub in compatible Echo Family Devices to connect compatible Zigbee devices to Alexa.

To connect your Zigbee smart home device to Alexa using a built-in hub:

  1. Verify that your smart home device is compatible by checking for a Zigbee logo on your device.
  2. Install your smart home device within 30 ft (9 m) of your Echo device with a built-in hub.
    • You can also install a compatible smart home device near another Zigbee device connected to your Echo device's built-in hub.
  3. Put your smart home device into pairing mode.
Instructions for putting your smart home device into pairing mode are in the manufacturer's companion app.
  4. Say, "Discover my devices."

If your Echo family device doesn't have a built-in hub, you can connect your smart home device through a separate Zigbee hub.
