Connect Zigbee Smart Home Devices to Alexa Using Your Echo with a Smart Home Hub
You can use the built-in smart home hub in compatible Echo Family Devices to connect compatible Zigbee devices to Alexa.
To connect your Zigbee smart home device to Alexa using a built-in hub:
- Verify that your smart home device is compatible by checking for a Zigbee logo
on your device.
- Install your smart home device within 30 ft (9 m) of your Echo device with a built-in hub.
- You can also install a compatible smart home device near another Zigbee device connected to your Echo device's built-in hub.
- Put your smart home device into pairing mode.
Instructions for putting your smart home device into pairing mode are in the manufacturer's companion app.
- Say, "Discover my devices."
If your Echo family device doesn't have a built-in hub, you can connect your smart home device through a separate Zigbee hub.
