Pair Another Fire TV Remote

Learn how to pair an additional remote or set up a replacement remote for your Fire TV device.

Note:

To pair your new remote with your original remote:

  1. Using your current remote, go to Settings on your Fire TV.
  2. Select Controllers & Bluetooth Devices.
  3. Select Amazon Fire TV Remotes.
  4. Select Add New Remote.
  5. Insert batteries in your new remote. Your remote should appear in the list.

Note: If the remote doesn’t appear, press and hold the Home button for 10 seconds to pair your remote.

To pair your new remote without your original remote:

  1. Restart your Fire TV device by unplugging it from power.
  2. Plug in your Fire TV and wait for the on-screen remote detection error message.
  3. Insert the included batteries into your new remote.
  4. Your remote should pair with your Fire TV device.
Note: If the remote doesn’t appear, press and hold the Home button for 10 seconds to pair your remote.
