Pair Another Fire TV Remote
Learn how to pair an additional remote or set up a replacement remote for your Fire TV device.
Note:
- Not all remotes are compatible with every Fire TV device. To check remote compatibility, go to Amazon Fire TV and Alexa Devices Compatible with Fire TV Remotes.
- You can use the Fire TV app to pair remotes to your Fire TV device. To learn more, go to Use the Fire TV App to Pair Your Remote.
- To pair remotes with Echo Show devices, go to Pair a Fire TV Remote with Your Compatible Echo Show.
To pair your new remote with your original remote:
- Using your current remote, go to Settings
on your Fire TV.
- Select Controllers & Bluetooth Devices.
- Select Amazon Fire TV Remotes.
- Select Add New Remote.
- Insert batteries in your new remote. Your remote should appear in the list.
Note: If the remote doesn’t appear, press and hold the
Home button
for 10 seconds to pair your remote.
To pair your new remote without your original remote:
- Restart your Fire TV device by unplugging it from power.
- Plug in your Fire TV and wait for the on-screen remote detection error message.
- Insert the included batteries into your new remote.
- Your remote should pair with your Fire TV device.
Note: If the remote doesn’t appear, press and hold the
Home button
for 10 seconds to pair your remote.
