Turn Adaptive Listening On or Off

With Adaptive Listening, you have more time to finish speaking before Alexa starts to respond.

Note: Settings menu items for the Echo Hub and Echo Show 5 (all generations) may vary, and those devices will receive a software update soon.
To turn Adaptative Listening on or off from the Alexa app:
  1. Open the Alexa app .
  2. Open More .
  3. select Settings.
  4. Select Accessibility.
  5. Select Adaptive Listening Mode.
  6. Select the device or devices that you want to use Adaptive Listening mode on.

You can also turn Adaptive Listening on or off from your Echo device's settings.

  2. Say, "Go to settings," or swipe down from the top of the screen and select Settings.
  3. Select Accessibility.
  4. Turn Adaptive Listening on or off.
