Payment Verification for Digital Orders
Banks and financial institutions use additional verification to protect your account information to allow only authorized payment methods.
Additional Payment Verification
In case you've signed up for a payment reconfirmation program, Amazon may contact your bank or financial institution for additional verification. The program covers "Verified by Visa" or "MasterCard SecureCode" and more.
When using such payment methods on Amazon, you need to provide the requested information. These details are required before we can proceed with the transaction or fulfill your order. The verification request may appear at checkout or you may be notified later via email or text message.
Note: The payment method pending verification will result in one of the following outcomes.
- If your payment method can't be verified, the transaction won't be completed. You'll not be charged for that transaction.
- If payment method requires verification for order placed, it’s put on hold and pending verification. The duration for verification is listed in your email notification.
- If the payment method isn’t verified within 7 days, the order will be automatically cancelled 7 days after the email notification. You'll need to place another order to purchase the item.
Contact your bank or financial institution if you need information to complete the payment verification. You can also find out if your payment method offers additional verification.
Important: If you or someone authorized to use your account didn't place an order and received notification from Amazon requesting you to verify your payment method, Contact Us.
