Locate Your Wi-Fi Password

To set up and register your Amazon device, you need to connect your device to a wireless network.

Finding Your Network Name and Password

  1. Check with the person who set up the Wi-Fi.
  2. Check the sticker on the bottom of your router.
  3. Check your router’s installation guide or the owner's manual.
  4. Check the wireless settings on a device already connected to your network.

Tip: Usually the network name is referred to as SSID and a password as a passphrase or key.

Android Devices

  1. Select and hold the Wi-Fi icon in the notification panel.
  2. Choose the connected network and select Settings.
  3. Under network details, there's often a Password option which gives you access to the details.
  4. Select Password to reveal the current Wi-Fi password.

Apple iPhone or iPad

  1. Go to Settings and then select Wi-Fi.
  2. Select the Wi-Fi network that you're currently using and then select Info.
  3. Select Password and use your password, Face ID, or Touch ID to unlock and reveal the password.

macOS

  1. Open the Apple Menu, select System Settings, and then select Network.
  2. Select Wi-Fi, then Advanced.
  3. Select More next to the network name.
  4. To reveal the password, select Copy Password.

Important: You need the admin password to reveal the Wi-Fi password.

Windows PC

  1. Open the Network and Sharing Center or Network settings.
  2. Locate your Wi-Fi network.
  3. Select the Wireless Properties or Security options for that network.
  4. Check for Show characters or Security key checkbox, and check it.
  5. The password is displayed in the Network security key or similar field.

Important: To access the password, ensure you log in as an admin.
